A Tamaqua man has been charged with violating a protection from abuse order.

State police at Hazleton said Carlos Juan Vega, 50, was cited after he contacted a 35-year-old woman from Nuremburg, Black Creek Township, Luzerne County, via text message and Facebook, which violated the PFA. The incidents occurred between May 1 and 4, troopers said.
