A Schuylkill County driver escaped injury when her vehicle struck a deer along a Lehigh County road.

State police at Fogelsville said Dedria A. Hartman, 39, of New Ringgold, was driving a 2002 GMC Yukon northbound on Route 309 in Lynn Township, about 9:39 p.m. on Tuesday when a deer entered the road in front of her.Hartman was unable to stop and struck the deer with the front driver's side. Hartman was able to pull onto the berm of the road.Troopers said the GMC had to be towed. Troopers added that Hartman was issued a written warning for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
