Legendary British blues-rock

On Friday one of the earliest of British blues bands, Savoy Brown, will perform at the Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe with founder guitarist Kim Simmonds at the helm.

This band helped launch the 1967 U.K. blues boom movement that paved the way for such acts as Led Zeppelin, and brought blues music back to the U.S., invigorating the style forever.Savoy Brown has released 37 albums. Simmonds was recently inducted into Hollywood's Rock Walk of Fame. They are one of the longest continuously running blues/rock bands in the world today.Tickets are $25.On Saturday, Kashmir The Led Zeppelin Show returns.Front man Jean Violet not only has what is widely considered one of the very best "Robert Plant" voices, but he also bears an uncanny resemblance to Plant, the "Golden God."Kashmir is considered one of the most authentic and accurate representations of Led Zeppelin out there today.All four members of the band assume their individual roles with amazing accuracy.
