A Northampton driver is facing charges of driving under the influence and fleeing or attempting to elude police following an incident that occurred on Tuesday.

State police at Lehighton said Jonathan Bender, 26, was operating a motorcycle on Route 33 at the Lehighton exit to Route 309, in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, when troopers attempted to stop him for a traffic violation, at 2:18 p.m.Bender did not stop and a pursuit ensued that lasted for about five and a half miles before he stopped and was arrested.Charges were filed in the matter, troopers added.
