Mahoning Township police announce arrests

Mahoning Township police announced two arrests Tuesday, both after stops at driving under the influence (DUI) checkpoints.

Andrew Carino, of Towamensing Township, was stopped along Route 443 just before 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 23 and found to be under the influence of controlled substances and in possession of marijuana.A blood test showed the presence of alprazolam, oxycodone and marijuana in his system. Carino was charged with two counts of DUI, and one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 5. Michael Dulina, of Weatherly, was stopped along Route 209 at 12:45 a.m. on Aug. 30.Police said he was operating his vehicle without an ignition interlock.Dulina was charged with illegally operating a motor vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 12.
