The meeting room in the Schuylkill Township Municipal Building was packed with people patiently waiting through more than an hour of regular business to have their turn to speak.

They were there to speak out against the proposed solid waste transfer station proposed along Route 209 in the area of Tuscarora. The proposal was made by Larry Wittig of the Environmental Awareness Corporation. Wittig's proposal offered the township a $5 per ton rebate.Supervisors indicated they were "willing to negotiate" with Wittig's company.
