Nesquehoning police reported on an illegal dumping incident in which a borough resident was issued citations.

Police said at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday, officer Dane O'Brien received information of an illegal dumping that was taking place at the end of Locust Streeet in the area of Maple Shades involving an older model dump truck, black in color.O'Brien located the vehicle in question, which had just dumped a load of used shingles just off the road, and identified the driver as Frederick Cross. Upon verifying Cross's information, O'Brien learned that the truck had no insurance, had an expired inspection sticker and an expired registration. Cross was issued four citations as a result, police said.
