Evan S. Krum of Schnecks-ville graduated magna cum laude from Kutztown University on Dec. 14 with a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies with a concentration in public relations.

He was the undergraduate speaker at the commencement.Evan also holds two associate degrees from Lehigh Carbon Community College and is a graduate of Parkland High School, where he was the class president for the four high school years. He is pursuing an OCS appointment in the United States Coast Guard.Evan is the son of Julia Barto of Schnecksville and the late Brian Barto and Kenneth Krum. He is the grandson of Henry and Jacquelyn Bisbing of Lehighton and the late Nevin and Joan Krum.
