Volunteers from St. John XXIII Parish in Tamaqua prepared goody "bags" for members
of the parish who are confined to their homes or nursing homes in the area. The effort was spearheaded by the St. Vincent DePaul Society, with help from the Father Henry BakerCouncil 2711 Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. Each bag contained apoinsettia plant, homemade cookies and a parish calendar. Pictured are a few of thevolunteers, including: Joe Ligenza, Rose Marie Hechler, Ermano Agosti, Claudette Zarraand Armando Zarra. The tradition has been ongoing for more than 20 years.
