State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes investigated by troopers, both occurring on Tuesday, Oct. 22, on Schuylkill County roadways.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:41 a.m. along SR443 (Long Run Road), in Wayne Township. Mark J. Travaglini, 51, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2009 Suzuki SX4 westbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. The Suzuki struck the deer, which was then thrown onto the south berm. Travaglini was not injured but his vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

The second crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. along SR895 (Market Street), in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said a 16-year-old male from Orwigsburg was stopped second in line in a construction zone operating a BMW 330I when Brian K. Kreps, 44, of Lebanon, driving a 2003 Ford FedEx truck, crested a small hill and failed to stop for traffic. The front of the truck hit the rear of the BMW. Impact pushed the BMW about 60 feet forward while the truck went onto the berm and traveled through a small wood pile.

Kreps, the teen driver and his passenger, Christa A. Meyers, 43, of Orwigsburg, were all injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville.

Kreps was cited, troopers noted.
