Bonding

Nine-year-old Autumn Madea of Lehighton seems to have found a friend in a mixed-breed dog, Amber, which was available for adoption at the sixth annual Polka-for-Pets held yesterday at Lehighton Community Grove. The animal adoption awareness program featured numerous adoption agencies. Free polka music was played by the Pennsylvania Villagers. Autumn's mother said she was considering adopting a dog.

Available for adoption Bill Toone, a volunteer with the Carbon County Animal Shelter in Nesquehoning, shows-off Copenhagen, a Jack Russell mix, at the annual Polka-for-Pets animal adoption festival yesterday at the Lehighton Community Grove. Toone said the dog was found about a week ago in Lehighton and he was hoping the owner might attend Polka-for-Pets and recognize the pet. Polka-for-Pets is sponsored by Mahoning Valley Lions Club
