Carbon man facing Coaldale charges

Coaldale police have charged a Palmerton man for deliberately damaging his former girlfriend's car.

Tyler Billings, 21, of 862 Columbia Ave., was charged with criminal mischief/damage real or personal property; harassment/ physical strike kick; disorderly conduct/hazardous/physical offensive conduct.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Charles Blesse the trouble happened at 12:01 a.m. June 23. Blesse was dispatched to 124 E. Ruddle St. on a report of a disturbance involving a man destroying a vehicle.Upon arrival he spoke with Tamatha Storm, who told him that Billings, her former boyfriend, had just left. He had been upset about being splashed while in the pool and they had argued. Billings left the house and went out to Storm's car, a blue Kia Optima.Billings broke the taillights then got inside and began kicking at the windshield, cracking it in several places.Storm said she took pictures of the damage while waiting for police to arrive. Billings would stop as she took the pictures, and pose for the camera, pointing to the damage he had caused.The damage to Storm's car came to $1,072.77.
