A Tamaqua woman was incarcerated in the Schuylkill County Prison on Independence Day, following a traffic stop in Tamaqua.

Patrolman Thomas Rodgers was on patrol at 2:02 a.m. on July 4 when he observed a motorcycle traveling north on SR309 at a high rate of speed. Rodgers initiated a traffic stop and identified the operator as Christopher Michael Pate, 33, of New Ringgold. His passenger was identified as Jennifer DiPietro, 30, of 119 Rowe St., Tamaqua.

Pate was unable to provide a valid driver's license, as his had been suspended for driving under the influence. DiPietro was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The motorcycle was towed from the scene. DiPietro was taken to the county prison and Pate was charged with driving while under DUI suspension and traffic offenses.
