A West Hazleton woman has been cited by McAdoo police following a traffic stop in the borough on July 11.

Geraldine Sydlo was operating a 2007 Hyundai Sonata on South Kennedy Drive at 12:24 a.m., when an officer on patrol noticed the vehicle's license plate light was not operational. The officer instituted a traffic stop and detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the driver, identified as Sydlo. She admitted to drinking "one or two beers" before getting behind the wheel of the car.She failed several field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
