Carbon Fair's swine champs

Some little piggies go to market. Some little piggies go home. But first some little piggies have their day in the Carbon County Fair arena.

Judge Travis Hahn applauded the fine job that the 4-Hers did in raising and showing their animals. He added that the parents, family and 4-H leaders deserve recognition for all the help and support they give.Tanner Seltzer of Lehighton took home Grand Champion Market Swine and Alyssa Wentz of Lehighton garnered Reserve Champion Market Swine in the 2013 Carbon County Fair 4-H Market Swine Round-Up.Seltzer also won Grand Champion Market Swine Fitter and Wentz won the Reserve Champion Market Swine Fitter and the Grand Champion Market Swine Showman. Ryanne Hoffman won Reserve Champion Market Swine Showman.In the 12-14 age class in the Fitting and Showmanship categories, Hoffman took first place in Fitting and Showmanship.In the 15 and older class in Fitting: 1st Tanner Seltzer; 2nd Alyssa Wentz; 3rd Colton Seifert.In the 15 and older class in Showmanship: 1st Alyssa Wentz; 2nd Tanner Seltzer; 3rd Colton Seifert.In the Weight Classes:• Lightweight- 1st Alyssa Wentz, 215 lbs.; 2nd Alyssa Wentz, 212 lbs.•Heavy Light Weight- 1st Alyssa Wentz, 239 lbs.; 2nd Colton Seifert, 226 lbs. (bred and owned by exhibitor); 3rd Alyssa Wentz, 235 lbs.• Medium Middle Weight- 1st Alyssa Wentz, 248 lbs.; 2nd Ryanne Hoffman, 250 lbs.• Medium Heavy Weight- 1st Tanner Seltzer, 262 lbs.; 2nd Tanner Seltzer, 258 lbs.• Heavyweight- 1st Ryanne Hoffman, 267 lbs.The fair continues through Sunday.
