Jim Thorpe police reported on the following arrests.
On Dec. 11, 2012, at about 7:03 p.m. officers stopped Eric Jon Yost, 37, of 80 Hemlock Drive, Jim Thorpe, for a traffic violation along Lehigh Avenue.
In speaking with Yost, officers detected the odor of marijuana. Yost consented to a search of his vehicle and found clear plastic bags, all of which contained a green vegetable matter and a pipe used for smoke in a backpack. The vegetable matter tested positive for marijuana.
Yost has been charged with possession or delivery of a small amount of marijuana or hashish, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, driving on roadways laned for traffic, and driving on the right side of the road.
On March 17 about 9:19 p.m. officers were dispatched to 128 Lentz Trail for a domestic dispute. On scene officers were met by Russell George Roberts, 55, of that address, who said that he and his stepson, Maxwell Thaddeus-John Weyhenmeyer, 23, also of that address, had been involved in a fight.
Through the investigation, police learned that a verbal argument turned into an incident in which Roberts attacked Weyhenmeyer and assaulting him. Police did observe recent physical injuries to Weyhenmeyer which were consistent to both parties' account of what happened.
Roberts was placed under arrest and charged with simple assault and harassment.
On Feb. 28 police were notified by the county sheriff's department that Kenneth Diaz, 33, of 482 25th St., Patterson, N.J., was at the courthouse for a proceeding and there was a warrant out for his arrest out of the Passaic County Sheriff's Office in New Jersey. They plan to extradite Diaz.
Officers went to the courthouse, where deputies were detaining Diaz, and took him into custody. He was later committed to the county prison on the outstanding warrant.
