Saying "thank-you"

Members of the West End Rotary Club distributed dictionaries to every third grade student in the Pleasant Valley School District, visiting each school. Dr. Karin-Susan Breitlauch, president of the WERC, explained to all the third graders at each school what Rotary is and asked them all to take the four-way test, a code of ethics adopted by Rotary which asks the following questions: Of the things we think, say or do, is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Honi Grasing, chairperson of the Rotary Foundation committee got the kids to guess how many letters are in the longest word in the English language, which is 1,909 letters. At an assembly of all third grade students at Pleasant Valley Elementary School, the assistant principal, Josh Krebs, left and a few students, presented WERC members, Dr. Breitlauch, Theresa Yocum, immediate past president, Honi Grasing, Elaine Ackroyd-Kelly and Daria Uhlig, New Generations committee chairperson, with handmade thank-you cards.
