Shaina Ristila, 6, was named as this year's Tamaqua American Legion C.H. Berry Post 173 Poppy Queen. Ristila attends kindergarten in the Tamaqua Area School District and is also a junior member of the Tamaqua American Legion Auxiliary. She is the daughter of Gary and Chrissy Ristila of Tamaqua. Shaina will also be a part of the upcoming Tamaqua Memorial Day Parade, which starts Monday at 10 a.m. and then succeeds to the Odd Fellows Cemetery at 11 a.m. for a community Memorial Day Service. Buying the first poppy is Tamaqua Mayor Chris Morrison.
