The Weatherly Area PTA will hold the third annual Wrecker Power Walk on Friday, May 25, rain or shine. The walk will start at the middle school lobby with grades K-2 walking at 9 a.m.; grades 3-5 walking at 9:45 a.m.; and grades 6-8 walking at 10:30 a.m.

This event is being held not only to encourage exercise, but also to raise funds for the 2012-2013 school year. Funds raised through this event will be used to sponsor assemblies, class parties, awards, school supplies, and programs for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.The Power Walk has been very successful in the past due to the efforts of sponsors, dedicated students, parents and staff of Weatherly Area School District. A $10,000 goal has been set for this year's walk.All students participating will receive a prize and any student who brings in at least $25 in donations will be entered to win the surprise family summer fun package.Students have received their pledge forms; so anyone wishing to make a pledge or donation can contact any Weatherly Area School District student in grades K-8. All pledge forms and donations should be returned no later than Monday, May 21.The Wrecker Power Walk is an event that is open to the public. Family members are encouraged to join students on the walk. There is a registration fee.
