Man rescued after Glen Onoko fall

Firefighters from Nesquehoning and Jim Thorpe made their first rescue off the Glen Onoko Falls of this young year. Shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday emergency personnel were called to the Lehigh Gorge State Park when it was reported a young man had fallen and suffered a knee injury. After making their way to the top falls rescue workers determined it would be safer and easier to extract the victim over the top of the mountain exiting onto SR903 at the state game lands gate. Nesquehoning firefighters as well as Mark Nalesnik, Carbon County emergency management coordinator and Lehighton paramedics traversed dangerous dirt roads to get to the victim and bring him out to safety.
