Cub Pack 145 held its annual Pinewood Derby on Saturday at St. John Church, Mahoning Valley.

The contest was held racing hand carved and painted cars that the boys and their dads had built down a track.

The Cub Scout Pinewood Derby is the most popular "fun event" that a young Scout will participate.

Several boys were recognized for the time spent building their cars.

The winners of the derby were Andrew Eisenhardt, first place; Ronnie Snyder, second; Joshua Glantz, third; Kylen Laudenslager, fourth; and Daniel Hoppes, fifth. The top winners will race their cars at the District event on Saturday, April 22 in Allentown.

Every year, boys with their parent's help, build cars of every description to enter at the local Pack competition. The construction of the car is intended to be a parent and son project with the son doing the majority of the work.
