Megan Smith, daughter of David and Nancy Smith, Lehighton, and Brian Godard, son of Robert and Carolyn Godard, Chesire, Conn., were wed July 9, 2011 at Ben Salem United Church of Christ, Lehighton.

The Rev. Michael McGowan officiated the double ring ceremony. Adele Kunkle played the organ while Brettany Smith, cousin of the bride, was the vocalist.Given in marriage by her parents, the bride chose her sister, Nicole Smith of Lehighton, as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Angela Rothermel Frey, Lehighton; Andrea Slyer MacCrerry, Milford, Mass.; Hollie Huntington, Sudbury, Mass.; Anna Cressey, Hudson, Mass.; and Hilary Andreotta, Southington, Conn.The bridegroom chose his brother, Eric Godard, as his best man. Ushers were Sam Licciardo, Princeton, Mass.; Tony Lombardi, Southington; Tyler Shea, New York, N.Y.; Ryan Doran, Kendall Park, N.J.; and Adrian Andreotta, Southington.Following a reception at Woodstone Country Club, Danielsville, the couple honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.Prenuptial parties included bridal showers at Basile's Restaurant in Tamaqua, and at a family friend's home in Middlefield, Conn.The new Mrs. Godard is a 2001 graduate of Lehighton Area High School. She graduated from Wilkes University in 2005 and The New England College of Optometry in 2009.Mr. Godard is a 2001 graduate of Southington High School, and a 2005 graduate of Clark University. In 2009 he graduated from The New England College of Optometry.The newlyweds currently reside in Bristol, Conn.
