Thorpe man facing criminal counts

A Jim Thorpe man is facing charges following incidents in the borough.

Borough police said Lewis M. Gullone, 53, of 15 E. Sixth St., Jim Thorpe, is facing charges following an incident that occurred about 5:08 p.m. on April 7. Police were dispatched to the LCN building at 1 Broadway for a report of a male threatening to kill a female with an ax. Upon arrival police questioned Gullone about the alleged threat.Gullone was uncooperative causing a disturbance and refusing to cease and desist despite several warnings. Gullone was placed under arrest and taken to the police station for processing. Upon arrival at the station Gullone refused to get out of the cruiser and had to be physically removed. He was taken to the Blue Mountain Health Systems Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton, for a mental health evaluation.Upon his release from the hospital, Gullone was charged with terroristic threats and persistent disorderly conduct, police said.
