Perfecting her acting skills

Olivia Ecke, 14, of Saylorsburg, worked on perfecting her monologue in front of the West End Rotary Club, that she will be presenting at her audition for the Lehigh Valley School of Performing Arts (grades 9-12). She also blew the members away with her a cappella rendition of "Walking After Midnight." As part of her audition, she has to dance, sing and act. A student of ballet, tap, lyrical and jazz, she is required to dance 1 1/2 minutes in something she has choreographed herself. She will be singing "Nothing" from "A Chorus Line" and "Somebody's Eyes" from "Footloose." Olivia wants to someday perform on Broadway. When she is on stage "the whole real world evaporates and it seems to be magic," she says. Olivia is the daughter of Jason Ecke and Alex Wendt and the granddaughter of Bruce and Karen Ecke.
