Lehighton PSP probe burglaries

Two Monroe County burglaries are being investigated by troopers at the Lehighton barracks.

One occurred at 1699 Mountain Road, Ross Township, at a residence owned by Lorraine Mary Howey, 60, of Saylorsburg. Police said entrance to the residence was made by cutting a window screen and proceeding through the unlocked window. Removed was jewelry from the upstairs bedroom. Thsi burglary occurred on June 2 between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.A burglary also was reported at the home of Rosemary Stetler, 68, of Kunkletown R.5, on May 27 between 7:30 and 8 p.m. Police said a rock was used to smash the rear kitchen door of the residence. Costume jewelry was taken from the residence.An incident of criminal mischief in Weissport happened on June 1 between 4 and 10 p.m. Police said it occurred at the residence of Lisa Solt, 28, of 235 Franklin St. Police said an unknown object was used to damage a second story window.
