The Jim Thorpe 7-8 year-old All-Stars recently captured their second tournament championship of the summer. Jim Thorpe followed up its Hazleton Tournament title by winning the West Hazleton Tournament. Jim Thorpe was the only undefeated team in the tournament and won the championship game with a 5-4 extra-inning victory over Valley East. In the title game, Jared Marykwas had a game-tying triple in the sixth inning. Anthony Voto had three singles and Davier Calcano had an inside the park home run and a single.
