On a bridge abutment going over to the mill in Millbrook Village, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is a 1942 benchmark giving the distance that spot is above sea level. There is a fine for moving the benchmark. It was placed in 1942 as part of a Coast and Geodetic Survey. Though the bridge washed out and had to be replaced, the abutment with the benchmark remains.
