One person was hurt in a one-vehicle crash that in which he was driving under the influence of alcohol, according to state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.

The accident happened at 8:38 p.m. Dec. 19 on the Merwinsburg Road (Route 3009) in Chestnuthill Township.Police said Joseph J. Tracy, 26, of Effort, was driving a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder south when he failed to negoriate a right-hand curve in the road. The vehicle left the road, struck two large tree stumps and several sections of six-foot privacy fence before coming to rest against two pine trees.Police said Tracy was not wearing a seatbelt, resulting in his head striking the windshield of the vehicle. He was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. The severity of his unijuries are unknown, police said.Police said Tracy will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
