Liquor board cites area businesses

Two Carbon County businesses, both in Palmerton, have been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board.

Sue Ellen M. Tracey, trading as Penn Lunch, 301 Lehigh Ave., was cited for sold alcoholic beverages after her restaurant liquor license expired on Aug. 31, and had not been renewed and/or validated. The violation occurred on Sept. 1, the citation notes.M&L Reis Enterprises, LLC, trading as Beer Zone, 643 Delaware Ave., Suite 3, has been cited for sold, furnished and/or gave alcoholic beverages on Sunday between 2 and 11 a.m. The violation occurred on Sept. 5, the citation states.These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
