The Eldred Beagle Club in Kunkletown held its annual Fun Trial Run-Off on Sept. 5. Beagles were divided into two classes: 13-inch and 15-inch. The 15-inch class had nine qualifiers and the 13-inch class had two qualifiers. Brad Haydt, Harry Koehler and Tom Walters were field trial judges for both classes.

First-Hanna, handled by Roger George
Second-Squirt" handled by Sam Riboldi
First-Chester, handled by Fred Holub
Second-Shenandoah, handled by Roger George
Third-Montana, handled by Roger George
Fourth-Little Man Bosco, handled by Fred Holub
Next Best Qualifier (Fifth Place)-Otis, handled by Fred Holub
Both first place winners were awarded $100 gift certificates, second places received $75 gift certificates, third place received a $50 gift certificate, fourth place received a $25 gift certificate and fifth place received a $10 gift certificate.
Plaques were also awarded to the dog in each class who scored the most points throughout the year, also known as the consistency winner. The 13-inch class winner was Squirt handled by Sam Riboldi and for the 15-inch class it was Shenandoah handled by Roger George.
The Eldred Beagle Club holds fun trials at the club grounds and it is open to anyone with an AKC registered beagle. Breakfast is served at 7 a.m.
The Eldred Beagle Club has a few openings for membership. If interested in membership or the fun trials, the Club holds monthly meetings the first Wednesday of the month 7:30 p.m. at the club grounds located off Beagle Run Road in Kunkletown.
