Lansford resident charged

A Lansford man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted another person.

According to Summit Hill police, on Nov. 18, at 3:20 p.m., they were dispatched to 30 W. Holland Street after the 911 center received a hangup call. The center had called the number from the hangup call and a male answered the phone stating that kids had been playing with the phone.When police responded to the area they were met by the victim, who was not identified. There had been a domestic dispute inside the apartment where Joshua Berko, 22, of 263 E. Bertsch St., allegedly assaulted the victim.Berko was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek, of Lansford, and sent to Carbon County prison in lieu of bail.
