RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) of Carbon County is searching for volunteers who are willing to put their talents and time to help nonprofit agencies and organizations in Carbon County. Anyone with a few hours to spare each month can help in many ways.

Friends of Animals is looking for people to help with fundraising, shelter tasks and foster care for the many cats and kittens in their care. Many people say they can't help because it is a sad thing to see shelter animals. Not so at the Friends of Animal shelter. The cats are very well taken care of while waiting for their forever homes with a caring family or individual. Volunteers can assist in maintaining the quality of care by giving of their time to these beautiful and loving felines. Adoptions are always welcome, too.Help is also needed at two sewing groups to sew quilts for disaster relief and lap robes to be delivered to local nursing homes.The Ombudsman Program sponsored by Carbon County Agency of Aging is looking for people who are willing to visit long and short term nursing and personal care home residents throughout Carbon County.More than 60 volunteer opportunities await anyone 55 years of age, who is looking for challenging, rewarding and significant ways to spend their time enriching Carbon County communities.RSVP of Carbon County is sponsored by Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries and is a division of the PA Senior Corps, the premier and largest senior volunteer agency in Pennsylvania. and the United States.
