Air Force Airman 1st Class Jacob A. Yelinek graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.Yelinek earned distinction as an honor graduate.He is the son of Kathy Yelinek of Park View Road, Slatington.The airman graduated in 2006 from Northern Lehigh High School nand received a bachelor's degree in 2008 from Full Sail University, Winter Park, Fla.
