More than 600 red, white, and blue balloons were placed throughout Broad Street (SR-209) in Tamaqua in preparation for the Tamaqua Memorial Day Parade Monday. The Tamaqua Volunteers community initiative group purchased and placed the balloons throughout Tamaqua. Pictured is one of the volunteer's vehicles covered with balloons. Lizzy Brown, owner of the Lizzy Brown's Gift Shop, a new store on Mauch Chunk Street, sold the balloons at a discount and also helped hang them.
