The operator of an all terrain vehicle was seriously injured Sunday night on the property of Lehigh Coal & Navigation. The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. about a mile off Rt. 209. Reports from the scene was the victim was ejected over the handlebars of the unit. The Tamaqua ambulance and several firefighters traveled the terrain to the scene. The victim was later treated by Lehighton paramedics and flown via Penn Star helicopter to a Lehigh Valley trauma center.
