Discharged from the U.S. Army at Fort Meade, Baltimore, Md., Francis Hugh Friel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Friel, East Sixth Street, East Mauch Chunk, sustained head injuries while en route home on Lehigh Valley Railroad train No. 15. Another passenger, walking through a passenger car aisle with a cup of water, lost his balance, fell into the chair occupied by Friel, pushing his head forcibly against the window. The window shattered and Friel sustained a severe head laceration. He was treated by a Lehighton physician.
