A Luzerne County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Nesquehoning.
On Aug. 12 about 6:19 p.m. Officer Timothy Wuttke was dispatched to a rear-end type crash at the intersection of state routes 209 and 93. At the scene Wuttke learned that a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by Roseann Wersinger, 70 S. Pine St., Apt. 316, Hazleton, rear-ended a Kia Sportage. The driver of the Sportage was not identified by police.
Wersinger was suspected of being under the influence and did submit to a chemical test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.
