A special program to celebrate the birthday of the U.S. Navy will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford.

There will be a short service with refreshments."Taps" will be sounded at the end of the service.Robert "Ski" Sieputowski, who is in charge of the program, said an invitation is extended to all veterans and their families, as well as reserves, active duty, and families.He especially urged all "Water Born," to attend, which includes Marine, Coast Guard, and Navy veterans.
