Special Olympics, PP&K contest teamming up

As part of the Jim Thorpe Birthday Celebration in the Borough of Jim Thorpe, the Carbon County Special Olympics competition will be held on Saturday, May 18th at the Jim Thorpe High School football stadium.

This year to mark the 50th anniversary of Jim Thorpe's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Carbon County Special Olympics will also be hosting an "official" NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick contest.There will be two divisions in the competition, which are Special Olympics athletes and also non-Special Olympic athletes.Each division will send five winners through to the next level of the NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick games.This competition is free to all area boys and girls age 6-15 where they will compete in either the 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, or 14-15 year-old age brackets.Anyone who is interested in the Punt, Pass, and Kick contest can visit the Carbon County Special Olympics' website at specialolympicscarboncounty.com Click on the link for the NFL Punt, Pass, Kick Contest for more information, contest rules, and necessary forms.
