A young boy from Lehighton passed away this weekend at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

An autopsy is being performed today to determine the cause of his death. He died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.Devin Gombert was a second-grade student at Mahoning Township Elementary School. He is the son of Brian Gombert.Gombert said that his son was initially treated last Tuesday at Blue Mountain Health System, Gnaden Huetten Campus, and then was again treated at the same hospital on Thursday, when blood was drawn to test for a strain of the flu.His condition worsened and he was taken for the third time to the same hospital on Saturday and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, where he died later that morning.
