Firefighters from three departments were utilized to rescue the operator of an all terrain vehicle Saturday morning between the villages of Quakake and Delano in Schuylkill County. The incident began just before 10 a.m. with a report of an injured person in a very remote area of a mountain side. Rescuers were hampered by a heavy fog and snow and ice covered access roads to the scene. Fire companies from Delano, Ryan and Rush townships responded to the scene as well as the Ryan Township Ambulance and Hazleton area paramedics. First responders had to access the scene off of Delano Road just west of Quakake. Rush Township police were at the scene. No report on the condition of the injured person was available.
