State police at Schuylkill Haven reported they are investigating a robbery that took place on Swatara Road, just off SR209 in Reilly Township, Schuylkill County.

The victim is Kathleen M. Devine, 70, of Gilberton.Police said Devine was given a ride in an unknown make or model sport utility vehicle (SUV) (white in color) from Pottsville to Swatara Road, where the crime occurred. The SUV had been operated by a white female possibly in her 40s and was going by the name, "Katie."A passenger was seated behind the victim and was going by the name "Chris," also possibly in his 40s.Police said the backseat passenger, once on Swatara Road, reached up and over the victim, placing her in a head lock and managed to open the vehicle door.Once the door had been opened, the victim was pushed out of the vehicle and had lost her purse in the process, which had been taken by the male passenger.The SUV then drove away toward SR209 and drove toward Newtown.Approximately $1,238 was inside the purse.The purse is described as small (white in color) with red, white and blue patches on it.Anyone having information regarding this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 739-1330.
