CCTI makes Adequate Yearly Progress

Carbon Career and Technical Institute (CCTI) has made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for the 2011-2012 school year. AYP is measured by the amount of Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) targets that are met.

CCTI met all their targets set by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for the 2011-2012 school year.- The categories for the statewide targets are:- Mathematics performance- Reading performance- Test participation- Graduation rateThe number of students who attained advanced or competent status on the exams is the highest in the history of CCTI.CCTI Administrative Director, Dave Reinbold stated, "We are obviously extremely proud of our students' accomplishments. Throughout the school year they worked hard to prepare for the PSSA exams. They made a sincere effort to do their best, and their dedication and commitment paid off.""Our skilled teachers and staff are focused on our academic, career, and technical goals and continue to do an excellent job preparing our students to meet any challenges they may encounter," he said.CCTI's 2011-2012 reading scores were 27 percent higher than the previous year's scores and their mathematics scores were 19 percent higher then the previous year's scores.
