Nesquehoning domestic incident

A Nesquehoning resident has been charged following a domestic incident.

Borough police Officer Chad McGowan was dispatched to 154 E. Catawissa St., about 10:42 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, to a report of a domestic dispute. On scene he was met by Sarah Storms, of that address, who said her finance, Brent Leibenguth, 28, also of that address, got into a dispute.Leibenguth was located and McGowan immediately noted the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on him. Leibenguth began shouting obscenities and was told to cease and desist. He then threatened to punch the officer after McGowan informed him of the consequences of continuing his conduct.An attempt was made to take Leibenguth into custody and he resisted. The police report indicated that substantial force was needed to take him into custody.He was charged with persistent disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and public drunkenness.He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Joseph Homanko, of Weatherly, and released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
