Holding banners, classes walked in costumed attire during the Panther Valley Middle School held its fifth Annual Mini Relay For Life recently at the Middle School for all the sixth, seventh and eighth grade students.

This is one of numerous activities students, parents, staff and volunteers hold to raise awareness and donations for the American Cancer Society via their Relay For Life team.

Students from each grade came out during school for an hour each to walk during the relay. During the relay, names of past cancer victims were also read over a public address system.

Principal Lisa Mace also stated the school's appreciation to organizers Kathy Inama, school nurse, and Ann Davis, instructor's aid.

Representatives from the Tamaqua-Carbon American Cancer Society were also on hand during the relay.
