Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will hold a Service of Healing and Blessing of Prayer Shaws at the 9 a.m. service on Sunday, July 29. Coffee haus fellowship follows the service in the parish hall.

The Service of Healing features prayers, anointing with oil of blessing, and laying on of hands to those who are troubled with physical, emotional, or social burdens. It is hoped that all who are sick would be made whole and their burdens lightened for the journey.Prayer shawls are hand-knitted with compassion by members of Trinity. A final blessing by the Rev. Robert vonFrisch is offered before the shawl is sent on its way. Prayer shawls are donated to wrap, hug, comfort, and shelter recipients during times of joy, sorrow, stress, and peace.
