Victoria Argott, 32, of 156 W. Snyder Ave., Lansford, faces charges from an incident which took place at 1:34 a.m. Jan. 7, 2011, on the 300 block of E. Bertsch Street in that borough. Argott is charged with four counts of driving under the influence, careless driving, use of multiple-beam road lighting equipment, and driving on right side of roadway.

According to an affidavit of probable cause:Officer Jason Helmer was on duty in a marked patrol car, traveling west in the 300 block of East Bertsch Street, when he saw a silver sedan traveling eastbound and failing to stay to the right side of the road. The driver failed to dim her high beams as she passed the cruiser.Helmer stopped the car and identified the driver as Argott. The high beam indicator light was visible on the instrument cluster. While speaking with Argott, Helmer noted that her eyes were glassy and her pupils constricted to pinpoints. During conversation, Argott appeared slow to respond, appeared confused and had difficulty speaking.Argott denied being under the influence of any substance.During field sobriety tests, Argott showed poor balance, coordination and inability to follow simple directions. She appeared very jittery and could not remain standings till as instructed.Helmer arrested Argott and took her to Miners Memorial Hospital. Coaldale, for blood testing. The results were received on Feb. 11, 2011, and indicated that Argott tested positive for cocaine metabolites.
