A kindergarten program at St. John Neumann Regional School has hit the century mark.

Kindergarten pupils at the school's Slatington campus observed a milestone recently when the school's kindergarten program turned 100 years old.

To celebrate the impressive feat, kindergarten pupils and their teacher, Mary Hartz, turned 100 years old for the day.

As part of the event, the pupils participated in various activities built around the number 100, Hartz said.

"They were quiet for 100 seconds, walked 100 steps, read 100 words, sang a song, and much more," Hartz said. "The day was filled with 100 different activities."

The school's Slatington campus houses students in grades K-3, while its Palmerton campus houses students grades 4-8.
