The Weatherly Area School District's Engineering Team is first in the state in Division One high schools following the annual TEAMS competition. The five member Weatherly team included senior class members Matthew Caccese, Sarah Dolinsky, Christopher Hunt and Lucas Rinker, and junior class member Michael Embick. They competed in the 11th/12th grade category in Division One.

This year's theme for the competition focused on the engineering aspect of health care and medicine. More than 10,000 students participated, vying for state and national rankings and awards. This year's TEAMS competition was held in more than 100 locations throughout the commonwealth between Feb. 13 and March 12. Each team may only compete once during the four week period. The challenge is divided into two 90 minute segments, a multiple choice quiz requiring participants to apply math and science knowledge to unique situations and an essay incorporating the answers to eight questions with the students' engineering solutions.

The Weatherly team competed at Bucknell University.

This is the second first place TEAMS win for Weatherly Area High School.
