Two Tamaqua residents cited

Two people were cited following an incident at Willing Park in Tamaqua on April 17.

Police on patrol at 9:53 p.m. noticed a dark sport utility vehicle parked in the shadows. There were two people in the vehicle who began acting furtively when officers approached.The passenger was identified as Michael C. Bowman, 31, of 415 N. Railroad St., Tamaqua. The driver was Heather Lee Pryce, 33, of 10 Cherry St., Tamaqua.Pryce told officers she was just giving Bowman a ride home, but was unable to explain the detour to the park.Bowman's pupils were constricted and his speech was slurred. In his right front pocket he had a cigarette pack containing a clear pink bag with a white substance inside. Inside the vehicle, officers found six white pills engraved with the code M367, for which neither party had a prescription.Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance. Pryce was also charged with driving with a suspended license.
